The Department of Health seeks a highly experienced leader to lead as Deputy Secretary of Community, Mental Health, and Wellbeing.
Role Overview
This senior executive position offers the opportunity to lead and transform the delivery of community-based health services, including Ambulance Tasmania, Mental Health, Public Health, Population and Preventative Health/Wellbeing, and all Statewide Services, in line with government objectives.
Key Responsibilities
* Drive the successful implementation of key reforms and improvements in community health services.
* Collaborate closely with Chief Executives of Ambulance Tasmania, Public Health Services, and other statewide leaders to ensure that services are integrated, effective, and delivered within established timelines.
* Build partnerships with public, private, and not-for-profit organisations, as well as with state and federal health stakeholders, to enhance coordinated care and streamline healthcare delivery.
* Lead strategies that support hospital avoidance initiatives and improve community service accessibility, leveraging digital transformation to optimise performance.
About You
We are looking for a senior leader with a track record of success in leading complex health service operations and driving strategic initiatives that improve service delivery.
* You should have exceptional leadership and communication skills, the ability to manage multifaceted programs under tight deadlines, and the capacity to respond to a wide range of pressures with professionalism and integrity.
* You will need to demonstrate your capacity for high-level advisory work, providing insights to the Secretary, Ministers, and the Departmental Executive to shape policy and strategic decision-making.
