The Head of Department – Humanities and Social Sciences (HASS) will lead and support staff to plan, deliver, monitor, assess and evaluate differentiated teaching and learning programs to ensure a supportive and inclusive learning environment.The successful applicant will ideally possess experience in supporting and building the capacity of their staff through coaching and mentoring processes.
We highly value applicants who can display high level skills and knowledge of the curriculum and those who understand how successful coaching and opportunity for professional learning supports the success of whole school operations.
Additionally, the successful applicant will ideally have outstanding communication and organisational skills, resilience, and proven ability to lead staff to effectively implement the Western Australian curriculum, guiding teachers and students to achieve excellence in well-established ATAR and General Courses.As the Head of HASS, you will lead the department to further develop and embed high standards of teaching and learning.
Your knowledge of the Department's Quality Teaching Strategy will help you to focus on leading your staff to implement high impact teaching that every student can benefit from.
Your ability to support staff to create culturally safe and supportive learning environments will also be highly regarded, as well as a strong understanding of the importance of improving outcomes for Aboriginal students.
