The role necessitates a background in French and Australian taxation, payroll, law and accounting practices. Our clientele consists mainly of individuals, predominantly French tax residents, along with companies that are subsidiaries or owned by French residents in Australia. Since reporting and presentations are primarily conducted in French, a bilingual candidate is essential to support our operations. MAIN DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES Our focus is on Australian and French individuals and Subsidiaries in Australia.Bookkeeping & General accounting :Maintain accurate bookkeeping for small to medium-sized Australian and New Caledonian businesses, adhering to respective standards and internal controls.Summarize financial status by gathering data and preparing balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and other reports.Reconcile financial discrepancies by analysing account data.Analysing financial data, identifying cost-saving opportunities, developing budgets, and preparing financial reports data financial statements.Audit documents to substantiate financial transactions.Maintain accounting controls by developing and recommending policies and procedures.Recommend financial strategies by evaluating various accounting options.Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local financial regulations by monitoring legislation.Ensuring compliance with AASB, IFRS, and New Caledonian/French GAAP standards.Reconciliation of intercompany transactions with group entities.Recording intercompany management fees and technical fees invoiced by mother companies in foreign currencies.Calculation of unrealised currency exchange gains/losses on balance sheet accounts held in foreign currencies.Assist with end-of-year reviews, including fixed asset schedules and intercompany transactions, and support statutory audits.Prepare reporting statement in English and FrenchPrepare FBT declaration, focusing on benefits subject to fringe benefits tax and calculate taxable value of the benefits. Advice on exemptions, concessions and other ways to reduce FBT. Compliance for salary packaged in the payroll, report to employee's income statement and tax implications.Calculate and prepare payout in accordance with the type of termination such as dismissal, resignation, redundancy, retirement, and termination by mutual agreement and comply with appropriate tax treatment and reporting code.Calculate entitlements and pro rata to comply with pre-modern awards, long service leave scheme, state and territory ActsReporting to ATO through STP phase 2 and end-of-year payroll reconciliationRegister, prepare and lodge annual payroll tax in accordance with States laws and regulations.Register, prepare and lodge workers' compensation declarations in accordance with states laws and regulations. Financial Management & Reporting :Conduct monthly and quarterly account reviews, ensuring accurate. documentation and reconciliation of transactions, including GST components for BAS preparations. Taxation:Prepare individual and company tax returns using HandiTax, focusing on:Individuals: Allocate franking and non-franking dividends, analyse foreign income, and ensure compliance with Australian tax laws for predominantly French clients.Non-residents: Manage tax obligations for French investors owning Australian properties, including GST registration and capital gains calculationsCompanies: Calculate taxable income, deferred tax liabilities/assets, and depreciation schedules. Provide consultation on transfer pricing regulations and prepare international dealing schedules. Payroll Management:Prepare fortnightly and monthly payslips for small to medium companies, ensuring compliance with Awards, Fair wok and ATO requirements. Communication & Client Engagement:Provide reporting and advice in French, maintaining regular communication and advising clients regarding their tax obligations and financial situations. Conduct meetings and presentations mainly in French to ensure clear understanding of complex tax matters.
