About the Role
Uniting AgeWell provides ageing support and services to clients in Castlemaine and surrounding communities. We have locally based employment opportunities available in and around Castlemaine. Home Care Domestic Support workers are responsible for providing domestic assistance, as well as social support and transportation as needed for clients. A formal qualification is not required and key responsibilities in this position may include:
* Traveling between clients' homes
* Assisting with domestic tasks such as meal preparation and household chores
* Observing clients' physical, emotional, and behavioural status, and reporting any observations or concerns
* Assisting clients with activities that contribute to a clean, tidy, and safe living environment
* Ensuring clients' clothing and personal belongings are kept safe and well-maintained
* Providing social support and transportation services as required
* Ensuring that clients' rights, cultural, spiritual, and other individual needs are respected in all aspects of care and daily living
* Providing exceptional customer service by maintaining friendly, supportive, and professional relationships with clients, their relatives, and friends
About You
You are passionate about your work and are dedicated to improving the lives of our clients by enhancing their self-esteem and empowering them to make choices. To be considered for this role, you will need:
* A current Victorian Driver’s Licence
* A registered, roadworthy vehicle with comprehensive car insurance
* Current First Aid and CPR certificates, or a willingness to obtain them
* Previous experience in a home care setting or in providing domestic support (desirable)
* Knowledge of community care and a commitment to maintaining high standards for clients and their families
* An understanding of client-directed care
* The ability to thrive in a team environment while also valuing one-on-one interactions
* Commitment to being part of a workplace culture based on the BEST way of life - Believe, Excel, Support, Trust
