Nurse Researcher - Diabetic Foot Ulcer, Queensland Health This role will support the Clinical Research Fellow to collect, monitor, evaluate and analyse data, and support the 'training' and evaluation of developed AI models for accuracy and performance on new data.

The Nurse Researcher, in collaboration with the Clinical Research Fellow, (Clinical Director of Endocrinology and Professor of Medicine) will support the delivery of two projects focused on the implementation of fluorescence imaging to diagnose diabetic foot infections, and development of artificial intelligence (AI) for predicting diabetic foot ulcers.
This role supports an evidence-based learning culture for staff, aligned with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA) – Registered Nurse/Midwifery Standards of Practice.
The position will provide research leadership, support and education with respect to the specific research studies to ensure the provision of best practice and quality patient care.
Role requirements Mandatory : Bachelor of Nursing or Bachelor of Midwifery or equivalent is a required qualification for this position.
Highly Desirable : Possession of a relevant postgraduate qualification in an appropriate field is highly desirable.
Such experience may be discipline specific or have a service area focus.
Highly Desirable: Nursing or midwifery research experience and/or extensive clinical experience in diabetes and/or endocrinology.
Good Clinical Practice (GCP): Certification must be completed and evidence submitted to the HHS within 2 weeks of commencing in this role.
The ideal applicant will be someone who has proven ability and can demonstrate the following: Ability to effectively manage clinical research studies within a collaborative health/hospital environment.
Previous experience in a health research environment and working knowledge of research processes; ability to collect, analyse and interpret clinical data; prepare research protocols; Human Research Ethics and Research Governance applications; reports of research completion and dissemination of results.
Advanced knowledge of contemporary research practice and methodologies and the ability to apply relevant legislation, guidelines and standards.
Well-developed interpersonal, written and oral communication skills including the ability to effectively use problem solving, change management and conflict resolution frameworks.
Ability to demonstrate ongoing professional development of self and others.
Demonstrated experience in a clinical care research setting.
