With the aim of improving the skills, confidence and employment outcomes of disadvantaged individuals, this organisation builds confidence and capability in its clients through inspiration, empowerment, and the delivery of exceptional customer service.With a vision of upskilling and increasing sustainable employment in the community, the organisation creates new possibilities for clients and ultimately changes the lives of people who face considerable challenges every day.About the role: Reporting to the CEO, the role of Executive General Manager (EGM) has been created to oversee the largest division of the organisation, following a period of significant growth and expansion.The EGM will form part of the senior leadership team and will be responsible for a varied portfolio of 15 government funded programs relating to Apprenticeships, Employment Services, Scholarships, Grants, Community, Youth and Health Services.In addition to delivering outsourced human services within strict contractual frameworks and driving performance in changing political landscapes, the EGM will also have an appetite for growth and be motivated to explore new business opportunities that align with the organisation's mission, values and purpose.The ideal candidate will be a seasoned and proactive commercial leader with an entrepreneurial spirit, and a deep understanding of the not-for-profit sector. We require a resilient, agile, and collaborative leader, with an unwavering commitment to fostering team development and succession planning.Candidates must be adaptable and able to thrive in the hands-on, mission-driven environment of the not-for-profit sector.The role will be based in Brisbane or the Gold Coast with some flexibility to work from home occasionally. Interstate travel (with some overnight stays) will be required a few times each month. The salary package is very competitive and includes a car allowance and short-term incentives.To be successful in this role you will have: Extensive commercial business experience in a similar strategic role, with a strong track record of driving business growth and achieving operational objectives. Proven experience with B2G/government tendering processes, including the ability to navigate complex requirements and deliver successful outcomes. Demonstrated ability to lead and implement change management initiatives effectively, ensuring business objectives are met. Strong leadership capability and experience in developing high-performing teams, fostering succession planning, and empowering individuals. Advanced numeracy and accountancy skills, including proficiency in creating budgets, analysing P&Ls, balance sheets, and cash flow statements. Candidates must be comfortable discussing and working with financial data at a high level. Capacity to quickly grasp the essentials of multiple government contracts while leveraging the detailed knowledge of experienced General Managers. Experience or awareness of the not-for-profit sector and a willingness to be hands-on when required. The ability to think innovatively, embrace new opportunities, and be driven to exceed business growth objectives. A consistent, transparent and straightforward leadership style with the ability to set clear expectations that inspires trust and engagement. Familiarity with employment services or apprenticeship programs, alongside a broad and diversified commercial background is desirable. Ability to obtain a Police Clearance with no disclosable outcomes and a Blue Card. Flexibility to travel as required.
