About Us:
Shinagawa Refractories employs approximately 100 people in Australia, with manufacturing operations in Unanderra NSW and Kwinana WA. The Unanderra plant is essentially a materials handling & processing operation and consists of crushers, screens, blenders, mixers, conveyors and packaging equipment. The plant has a mix of old and new technology, requiring scheduled, preventative and breakdown maintenance as well as a continuous focus on a variety of plant improvement & upgrade projects.
The Role:
We are seeking an enthusiastic and adaptable individual to join our team as a Trainee Plant Engineer. This role offers a unique pathway to becoming a plant engineer without acquiring a large HECS debt at university, by learning on the job, complemented by additional tertiary training at TAFE or other educational institutions.
Working alongside the Engineering Manager and Maintenance Team, you will help to keep the plant available for production, minimise breakdowns, and seek to improve the way the manufacturing plant operates.
Key Responsibilities:
* Assist in the maintenance and optimization of plant operations.
* Collaborate with experienced engineers and tradespeople to troubleshoot and solve engineering issues.
* Participate in continuous improvement projects to enhance plant efficiency.
* Learn and apply engineering principles in a practical, hands-on environment.
