About the Role
The Early Parenting Practitioner works competently within their scope of practice to deliver safe, evidence-based patient centred care. As part of the nurse led multidisciplinary team, the EPP will work across all Grampians Health Early Parenting Centre (GEPC) parenting programs required. These include day stay, home stay and outreach programs. The program has a strong focus on family/child/patient centred care and the EPP will demonstrate this along with the ability to work within our organisational values.
Key Responsibilities
* Maintain an understanding of parenting challenges and promote prevention, early intervention and help-seeking opportunities
* Apply knowledge to practice independently and evaluate situations
* Recognise and promote factors that contribute to connection to culture and community diversity, and promote self-determination in decision-making
* Maintain a strong and collaborative working relationship with the Senior Early Parenting Practitioner and actively support Early Parenting initiatives and activities
Skills & Experience
* Diploma or above level qualification in Early Childhood Development, Family Therapy, Social Work, Community Education or Child and Maternal Health
* Ability to develop trust and rapport with patients and families
* Demonstrated ability to strengthen client capacity to reach their goals
* Ability to work a rotating roster consisting of days and nights throughout the EPCD
