This senior leadership role will be integral in driving the company's sustainability strategy, ensuring compliance with environmental and social regulations, and maintaining a strong social license to operate in all areas of their mining operations. The Head of ESG will work closely with the executive leadership team to align ESG principles with the company's operational goals, ensuring sustainability is embedded in every aspect of the business.
Key Responsibilities: Develop and lead the implementation of the company's ESG strategy, ensuring alignment with mining operations, business objectives, and regulatory compliance across environmental, social, and governance factors.Oversee the establishment and management of ESG systems that track, measure, and report on key performance indicators related to environmental impact, community engagement, and governance practices.Collaborate with senior leadership to integrate ESG considerations into decision-making processes, fostering sustainability within all levels of the organisation.Manage relationships with external stakeholders, including regulators, local communities, and investors, to communicate ESG performance, progress, and initiatives effectively.Ensure compliance with mining-specific ESG regulations, reporting standards, and environmental permits.Lead risk management processes to address ESG-related risks, particularly environmental and social risks associated with mining operations.Drive initiatives to improve safety standards, reduce environmental impact, and strengthen community relations in mining areas of operation.Foster a culture of sustainability within the organisation, educating teams on the importance of ESG principles in mining operations and guiding them towards adopting best practices.Provide leadership in the creation and execution of programs addressing health, safety, environmental protection, and community engagement, ensuring they align with the company's long-term sustainability goals.About You: Our client requires the following qualifications and experience:
