As an experienced people leader, you will develop strong partnerships and influential relationships across our HR team to engage all areas in the development and implementation of innovative HR strategies, projects and initiatives. Taking a big-picture approach to our structure, resourcing, and capability considerations, you’ll oversee key strategic HR planning and governance that ensures our team is ready to meet stakeholder needs and deliver on strategic priorities. Your role will champion the ‘One HR’ approach, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement that offers a centralised service for the University’s HR needs.Reporting into the Chief People Officer (CPO), you’ll work collaboratively to shape the future of HR at UNSW, a dynamic and future-ready workforce, designed to address the evolving needs of the higher educational landscape with forethought and purpose.Skills & Experience SummaryWe’re looking for a big thinker to deliver strategies that drive engagement and, where needed, effective change. Holding extensive experience in an HR leadership role, you will bring a proven track record of furthering best HR practice in a complex and dynamic organisation, alongside the following:Thorough working knowledge of workplace legislation and regulations, and HR best practice within a large and/or complex organisation.Strong track record in creating and leading high performing multi-disciplinary teams that encourage professionalism, innovation and a culture of service excellence.A breadth of knowledge across multiple areas of HR and project management with excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills and the ability to deliver desired outcomes.Demonstrated experience in reviewing, comprehending, and briefing complex concepts to stakeholders at all levels.Outstanding analytical and problem-solving abilities; attention to detail coupled with the ability to think strategically and act decisively.High level interpersonal and communication skills, and a demonstrated ability to interact with stakeholders at all levels and negotiate and influence key decision makers.Demonstrated ability to manage competing responsibilities and commitments simultaneously, while meeting or exceeding established deadlines using excellent judgment and decisiveness.Advanced stakeholder management skills to inform, persuade and negotiate with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders, to meet organisational expectations and work collaboratively in a team environment.For further information on the role & responsibilities, please refer to the position description.UNSW Benefits and CulturePeople are at the core of everything we do.
