This position involves a seven-day rotating roster of morning, afternoon and night shifts.Suitable applicants will have the opportunity to develop skills in surgical nursing with the support of an educator. Skill development available for patients requiring 1:1 acute post-operative care.Ward 4B is a 30-bed ward caring for adult patients from surgical specialties. The surgical specialties include but are not limited to: General surgery, Colorectal, Gastro, Plastics, Skin lesions including melanoma, oncology-based surgery including mastectomy and breast reconstruction (DIEP) and cardiothoracic.DUTIES:Perform comprehensive and accurate nursing assessment of patientsIdentify and implement discharge planning requirementsPlan appropriate care in consultation with patient and multidisciplinary teamPrioritise and implement planned care to achieve expected outcomes of established prioritiesEvaluate patient progress and revise nursing interventions where requiredTimely, complete and accurate documentation of nursing care and patients' progress in patient's medical record and communicate to other team membersABOUT YOU:Registered Nurse authorised to practice by the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)Recent demonstrated experience in a Surgical acute care and/or hospital setting as a Registered NurseAbility to work unsupervised and proficiently and in an organised manner during periods of high demandDemonstrated ability to work effectively as a member of the multidisciplinary teamDemonstrated communication, interpersonal and customer service skillsDemonstrated commitment to own personal and professional developmentWHY JOIN US?CMN is an Affiliated Health Organisation providing services to both public and private patients primarily from the Hunter New England area.
