Reporting to the Capital Works Industry Partnerships Manager and working closely with the Senior Standards and Products Engineer, you will contribute to ensuring that technical excellence is reflected and consistent throughout YVW's capital delivery processes and procedures.You will use your knowledge and experience to support (and on occasion lead) the implementation of products and standards initiatives that will improve safety, asset quality, environment and community outcomes, as well as maintain YVW's catalogue of technical standards and standard drawings.About usWe're on a mission to create a brighter future, where you can be a change maker at the actual source.

Then ask yourself these 5 questions:Are you passionate about your work and truly care about what you do?Are you ready to take on something new and different in your career?Do you want to be challenged, but also supported?Do you want to work with like-minded individuals who value connection?Are you seeking a better work-life balance?If you answered YES to some of these questions, then please read on about becoming a Standards and Products Engineer at Yarra Valley Water in the Capital Works Industry Partnerships Team.Your key responsibilitiesImplement products and standards initiatives that will improve safety, asset quality, environment and community outcomesProject manage the delivery of new or updated design and construction codes of practice, specifications, technical standards and drawingsDevelop strong working relationships with other engineers and technical officers in Planning, Delivery, Quality, Operations, and other areas of the business as requiredEvaluate new civil, mechanical and electrical products together with internal subject matter experts.Maintain YVW's catalogue of technical standards specifications and standard drawingsReview dispensation requests related to Products or Standards together with YVW's Senior Standards and Products Engineer.Attend or lead technical meetings internally and with other water agencies.Maintain YVW's list of approved products and respond to product enquiries or questions.Plan, coordinate, and conduct product trials to assess performance, durability, and compliance with YVW standards.Evaluate and drive the adoption of recycled and sustainable products in construction.What we're looking forRelevant Degree level qualification in Engineering (or similar) or a tertiary degree with strong experience in an engineering/technical field.Minimum of 2 years of experience in planning, design, construction or operation and maintenance of water supply and sewerage systems or comparable utility/industry.Demonstrated interpersonal skills in dealing with key stakeholders including working groups, senior management, technical experts, consultants and contractors.Demonstrated knowledge of Water Industry Design and Construction Codes and Standards is preferable.Demonstrated advanced computer skills, including word processing, spreadsheets and databases.To view the full position description, click HERE.No water experience.
