The position will work collaboratively with a broad range of stakeholders, team leaders and senior executives to lead impactful change management programs that build workforce capability and performance to support the delivery of high-quality care and clinical services.Important workforce priorities include delivery of Southern's People Strategy, transforming the LHD education, learning and development landscape and recruiting and attracting talent across the region.
You will have a pivotal role in leading and shaping a strong learning culture, building education frameworks to support high performing teams that directly impact the future of healthcare in the District.A highly engaged team member, the successful candidate will thrive in the ever evolving health care environment, be adept at designing, developing, and implementing comprehensive workforce strategies that add real value to the communities we serve, and that shape the future success of Southern NSW LHD.Whilst the role will be based at our Head Office in Queanbeyan, it will require some regular travel within the district.Selection CriteriaRelevant tertiary qualification, or equivalent work experience, or a combination of study and work experience including a proven track record of senior management experience across a broad range of health service functions.Demonstrated experience in leading the development and implementation of comprehensive workforce and learning and development frameworks, strategies and programs in a large and complex service-delivery organisation, preferably in the healthcare sector.
This includes expertise in needs analysis, curriculum design, learning methodologies and evaluation methods.Proven ability to design and implement workforce plans, succession plans, and talent management initiatives that align with organisational goals and address future workforce needs.
This includes experience in identifying skills gaps, developing career pathways, and implementing ways to retain and develop talent.Evidence of planning and delivering effective organisational development initiatives that support strategically aligned innovation, growth, and cultural transformation.Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with a demonstrated ability to build strong relationships, collaborate effectively, and influence people at all levels, including senior management, external partners, and frontline service delivery staff.Strong operational management skills with a proven track record in successfully delivering operational outcomes in a geographically dispersed work environment.Ability to lead and manage change within a learning and development context, including introducing new methodologies and approaches to enhance learning outcomes.Evidence of a current, unrestricted driver's license and the ability to maintain.
Ability and willingness to travel as the role requires.
