Claims Officer – Join a team that makes a difference!About the Role…The Claims Officer plays a critical role in the processing and management of claims for services delivered under the Workforce Australia and Disability Employment Services (DES) contracts. This position ensures the timely, accurate, and compliant processing of claims and payments in accordance with government guidelines and program requirements. The Claims Officer will also work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to resolve discrepancies and provide efficient administrative support within the framework of these important services.Role Responsibilities:Process claims for services provided under the Workforce Australia and DES contracts in accordance with established guidelines and contractual requirements.Review and validate claims to ensure completeness, accuracy, and compliance with relevant policies, regulations, and service agreements.Ensure timely and accurate submission of claims within required deadlines, maintaining strict attention to detail.Liaise with internal departments and external stakeholders, including service providers and government agencies, to resolve claim-related queries and issues.Respond to inquiries regarding the status of claims, provide updates, and offer explanations of claim processing procedures.Provide clear and accurate information regarding eligibility criteria, documentation requirements, and claims procedures.Maintain accurate records of claims submitted, payments processed, and communications with stakeholders.Update and manage claim files within the claims management system, ensuring all documentation is properly filed and easily accessible for audit purposes.Monitor claims for potential errors, fraudulent activities, or discrepancies, and escalate issues to the appropriate team members.Ensure all claims and associated documentation comply with Workforce Australia and DES contract guidelines and Australian Government regulations.Participate in audits and reviews as required, ensuring that claims practices align with contractual and legal obligations.Contribute to continuous improvement by identifying and suggesting improvements to processes and workflows for efficiency and effectiveness.Prepare regular reports and summaries regarding claims processing activities, including claims status, outstanding claims, and any issues or delays.Assist with the analysis of claims data to identify trends, anomalies, and areas for process improvement.What we’re looking for:Demonstrates high levels of accuracy and attention to detail in processing claims and maintaining records.Ability to review claims and associated documentation, identify discrepancies, and resolve complex issues.Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively liaise with stakeholders at all levels.Ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.Understanding of relevant compliance requirements, including government policies and contractual obligations, particularly in relation to Workforce Australia and DES programs.Able to identify issues with claims processing and resolve them proactively.Strong computer skills and experience with claims management software or similar systems.Previous experience in claims processing, within Employment Services Contracts.Experience in working with Workforce Australia or Disability Employment Services contracts (desirable).Understanding of relevant government policies, procedures, and regulations concerning Workforce Australia and Disability Employment Services (DES) programs.Strong organisational and multitasking abilities.Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately.Proactive and results-oriented with a focus on continuous improvement.Team player with the ability to collaborate across different functions.Why you’ll love working for us:Rewarding work that changes lives.Supportive and dynamic team environment.Opportunities for professional growth.Paid Annual Family Days at Easter and Christmas (5 additional paid days per year).Annual leave loading 17.5%.Salary Sacrifice Packaging $15,900 tax free.87.7% employee satisfaction.Professional development and training opportunities.Corporate discounts through Employment Hero (e.g. Movie tickets, JB HiFi, Uber Eats, Coles & Woolworth's).About Family Services Australia (FSA)Family Services Australia is a non-for-profit organisation that has been servicing the Illawarra region since 1992.
