As a Senior Branch Manager, you will lead a large and diverse team across multiple locations, playing a pivotal role in strengthening the local Community Bank business. In this dynamic and high-impact role, you’ll make your mark by: Coaching and developing your team to enhance their skills, performance, and career growth while embedding a strong sales and service culture Driving business performance by tracking KPIs, managing profit and loss, interpreting financial reports, and implementing strategic initiatives to ensure sustainable growth Growing the lending portfolio, particularly in residential and personal lending, while delivering tailored financial solutions to meet customer needs Ensuring operational excellence by embedding risk management practices and maintaining compliance across all branches Working closely with the Community Bank board to build and nurture community relationships, being the face of our brand, actively participating in events and establishing yourself as the go to person for banking in our region Leading by example. While the role is suited to candidates living locally, applications are also encouraged from those based in Wollongong, Illawarra, Canberra, and the Southern Sydney/M5 corridor. Some travel, weekend work, or after-hours commitments may be required. What you’ll bring to the role To succeed in this role, you’ll drive BDCU’s growth through leadership, business development, and team coaching. We’d love you to have: Proven banking and leadership experience, with the ability to set strategic direction and drive business growth People leadership skills (preferably across multiple sites), including developing, coaching, and managing staff performance Strong relationship management skills to effectively network and engage with the community and business partners Experience in residential and commercial lending (essential), including a high-level understanding of lending products, policies, and regulations Previous residential delegated lending authority, with the ability to mentor the lending team Strong communication skills to deliver clear branch expectations Financial management expertise, including business acumen, risk framework knowledge, and the ability to analyse financial reports and statements Effective and influential presentation and public speaking skills BDCU and the Community Banking model With more than 60 years in our local community, Community Bank BDCU is part of a social enterprise, delivering our profits back into our immediate community to deliver real social impact.
