The AccessWorker is accountable for providing information and advice tocustomers on their housing options and assessing eligibility forclients to access crisis and supported accommodation, socialhousing and private rental assistance. It is also responsible inengaging people and clients with more complex and/or diverse needsto assist them to access appropriate social housing, homelessnessand other services to meet their needs. As well as conductingappropriate housing needs based assessments and other risk andvulnerability assessments, to enable clients’ access toappropriate social housing and private rental services and to putin place or monitor any necessary safeguards identified and/orrequired.
SpecialConditions:
1. Successful applicant will be required to satisfactorily complete a National Police Clearance prior to being employed.
2. Successful applicant will be required to satisfactorily complete a DHS Screening Unit Working with Children Check prior to being employed and every 5 years.
3. The successful applicant may be required to hold a current Australian issued Driver’s Licence, which must be maintained.
4. Appointment will be to a specific Region within SA Housing Authority with possible movement to any other Region depending on organisational needs. The incumbent may be assigned to any other area to perform work of a similar nature appropriate to the classification on a temporary or continuing basis.
5. The incumbent in the role is a Mandated Notifier of child abuse under the Children’s Protection Act 1993.
