The position of Branch Manager is accountable for all aspects of safety, performance, resourcing and team leadership. This includes overseeing all activities and resources associated with branch operations to achieve agreed objectives, proactively optimising profitability and business efficiency with a strong customer focus (DIFOT), in a safe and engaging manner.
Critical to this role is the ability to display strong leadership, strategically plan and coordinate daily activities and hold team members to account. This position is accountable for achieving daily KPI's and identifying/actioning process improvements, budget management and cost control (P&L) as well as managing Industrial Relations matters and Union relationships at local branch level.
What you'll do
Lead the Business (Strategic Thinking and Decision Making)
* Implement and oversee operational plans to ensure performance targets and branch KPIs are achieved and provide recommendations for improvement to ensure financial budgetary requirements are met.
* Collate, analyse and communicate operational statistics of the branch, focusing on service performance, operational shortfalls and distribution levels.
Deliver Results (Pursuing Excellence and Driving Change)
* Control operational workflow of the branch, ensuring Standard Operating Procedures are followed and meet timeframes, productivity levels and other KPIs as set by Operational Management.
* Provide direction and advice to Operations Managers regarding sound and timely decisions on day-to-day operational matters for the branch.
Engage People (Building Relationships and Growing Capability)
* Ensure employee engagement, performance management and team development is consistent with TGE's policies, procedures and expectations.
* Develop operational expertise within the team by providing training and development opportunities and on-the-job coaching for individual employees to ensure optimum performance.
Health Safety & Environment
* Lead and apply a proactive and preventative approach to HSE issues affecting the site and/or the work area.
* Accountable for compliance for self and team with all relevant legislative and regulatory obligations.
What you'll bring
* Strong understanding of the Transport Industry and knowledge of regulatory requirements relevant to role.
* Extensive experience in frontline leadership roles with effective external stakeholder management and strong customer focus.
* Strong working knowledge and understanding of HSE-related legislative and regulatory requirements.
* Ability to determine resource requirements to meet plans and customer service requirements.
* Strong conflict resolution, performance management, coaching, training and presentation skills.
* Sound understanding of Industrial Relations matters and experience within a unionised environment.
