Ballarat and District Aboriginal Cooperative (BADAC)
Established in 1979 by the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community in the Ballarat district, BADAC’s vision is to be the strongest voice and presence in the Ballarat District, supporting and respecting their people, enhancing our community, growing their culture, and honouring their heritage.

The Role
The Human Resources Officer position will see you work to undertake industrial and employee relations investigations and management and HR Generalist activities within BADAC. Reporting to the Human Resources Manager you will be supported to work autonomously, as is suited to your senior level of experience, while applying your HR expertise to plan, complete, and report on a range of HR generalist activities.
You will proactively engage with relevant parties throughout workplace investigations, employee relations and end-to-end employee management processes. Your experience in a similar role will ensure all reporting, recommendations, advice, and support is legally compliant and documented to the highest standards. You will act as a trusted source of HR advice for members of the BADAC team, and complete associated HR administrative activities as required.
This position would suit a Human Resources (generalist professional) with demonstrated years of experience managing Employee and Industrial Relations. Duties
* Manage a range of HR generalist activities such as employee negotiations, performance management, compliance, onboarding and training and development (for example)
* Advocacy and negotiation with unions and other external bodies as required
* Investigation and management of employee relations issues and disputes
* Provide HR advice and guidance members of the BADAC team
* Support broader HR unit projects as required
Skills & Experience
* Demonstrated senior years of experience in a Human Resources generalist role including managing legally compliant IR/ER investigation processes
* Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
* Ability to work autonomously
* Positive and proactive approach with exceptional attention to detail
* A relevant qualification in Human Resources
* Experience in Not for Profit sector
