Family Friendly FIFO 8/6 FIFO Roster - 10 + year mine life The Opportunity Abra Mining Pty Limited (Administrator's Appointed) is seeking a Mine Planning Engineer for a full-time position with the company based at our Abra Mine.Abra is located approximately 220km north of Meekatharra, in the Gascoyne region of Western Australia.The mine represents one of the world's cleanest and largest standalone lead-silver projects capable of producing "Metal in concentrate" of between 90 – 100ktpa lead and 600 – 800kozs silver per year. The Abra Mineral Resource geologically consists of multiple mineralised zones predominately consisting of an upper over-laying sediment-bound Apron zone that sits above an underlying hydrothermal feeder system called the Core zone.The most recent LOM plan (1.5Mtpa) based on the MRE2023, grade control model updates and ore mined to date contains 16.3Mt @ 6.9% Pb indicating a mine life of 10+ years. The Abra Mine construction and commissioning was completed in late 2022 and production ramp up took place during 2023, the mine has now reached steady state production volumes.The underground ore mined is processed through a conventional processing plant, to produce a high-grade lead-silver concentrate that is exported via the Geraldton Port. The Role Reporting to the Senior Mining Engineer, you will be responsible for delivering the detailed monthly mine plans & designs required to meet the 12-month mine plan to maximise the NPV of the underground operation, and ensuring that the highest technical and safety standards are maintained. Key duties of the position include: Produce final designs on new ore bodies and/or new areas. Update physicals and status changes from final designs into mine Schedule. Ensure Stope reconciliations are completed and report provided. Ensure mine design Mine Works Instructions are designed, approved and distributed as per the schedule to meet the monthly plan and for 12 month forecasting purposes. Provide monthly plan data and required tasks to project and production staff. Work with Ventilation Officer in the development of Ventilation circuits for stope design. Work with the Engineering team on the development of stope shapes and sequence. About You You will bring: Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering. Minimum 3 year's mining experience in an underground environment. Engineering software skills and knowledge (Deswik skills and knowledge highly desirable). Experience with completion of level designs and monthly/quarterly scheduling. Experience in economic assessments inclusive of development and infrastructure. Current "C" Class Western Australian driver's license. First Class Mine Managers Certificate and/or WA underground Supervisors Certificate will be considered favourably.
