Due to continued growth in our Enterprise Risk, Health and Safety group, the opportunity has arisen for an Insurance and Claims Officer to join our highly skilled team on a part-time basis. About the Role As an Insurance and Claims Officer, you are responsible for overseeing key insurance functions by coordinating and administering the assessment, processing, stakeholder liaison, and claims management activities of Council’s insurance functions. In addition, the role involves managing the claims process, insurance administration, and ensuring policy renewals include appropriate coverage for all Council assets and activities. This role requires you to collaborate closely with key stakeholders, such as insurance providers, legal advisers, and internal Council departments. You will also support the team and Council business units in reviewing risk assessments for Council projects, events, and activities, ensuring that all enterprise risk management practices are consistently applied across Council. A high level of attention to detail is essential for the administration and maintenance of risk and insurance documentation in line with Council’s policies, protocols, and procedures. This includes managing Council’s Asset Insurance Schedule, maintaining the insurance register, and preparing regular reports for the Executive Leadership Team. About You To be successful in this role, you will bring contemporary industry knowledge and experience in insurance or claims administration and demonstrate effective oral and written communication skills, including the ability to prepare correspondence and reports. You will have completed a Certificate IV in Business Administration or equivalent experience. You will also have a proven ability to meet work targets, ensure high standards of service to internal and external customers, and show a commitment to continuous improvement in systems and processes. Strong teamwork skills are essential, along with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines. Your experience in resolving complex issues through negotiation, conflict resolution, and influence will be invaluable in this role. This is a permanent part-time role, working 28 hours per week with a base salary ranging from $75,227.00 - $83,502.00 per year (prorated) based on demonstrated competencies + 11.5% p.a superannuation.
