Accountant Role
We are seeking a skilled and proactive Accountant to join our team at {company}, a leading construction compliance company.
This role will play a critical part in maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance, and supporting the company's accounting functions.
* Perform bookkeeping duties including accurate data entry, reconciling bank accounts, and managing accounts payable/receivable.
* Prepare BAS, IAS, payroll tax, FBT, and Workcover declarations for external accountant lodgement.
* Process and follow up on debtor payments, ensuring timely recovery of outstanding invoices.
* Oversee payroll functions, ensuring accuracy and legislative compliance.
* Provide weekly financial reports and support management with financial analysis and ad-hoc reporting.
* Assist with preparation of superannuation payments and ensure legislative compliance across all financial reporting.
* Strong experience in accounting or bookkeeping, with advanced Excel skills.
* Experience with Xero or similar accounting software.
* Knowledge of BAS, GST, payroll, FBT, and other Australian taxation requirements.
* High attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple financial functions efficiently.
* Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
* Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
* SMSF experience highly desirable.
