We are seeking an experienced journalist to join Farm Weekly's editorial team. The successful candidate will report on issues important to Western Australian farmers, from politics to livestock markets, for both our print and online audiences. An understanding of agriculture and regional Western Australia and/or experience in the agriculture industry would be seen as highly valuable, but not essential. This role is based in Farm Weekly's South Perth office. The role's key responsibilities: Gathering, writing and self-editing news stories for publication in both print and online. Using social media and digital storytelling tools to create engaging online content. Building relationships with new and existing audience members to help in your ability to source stories. Attending, reporting on and representing the masthead at events. The ideal candidate: Experience in either journalism or agriculture. Someone with a high attention to detail who is self-motivated and organised. Someone with good time management skills to help meet important deadlines. A good communicator who is happy to network with new people. Someone with a valid driver's licence. What's in it for you?
