In partnership with the Australian Defence Force, Ventia is seeking an experienced Industrial Painter/Blaster to join our team on the Defence Maintenance Contract (DMC) at the Ross Island Barracks, Townsville. Our team work on an array of Army’s marine craft, vessels and maritime equipment.
Working Monday to Friday this is a permanent opportunity.
The successful candidate will be responsible for grit blasting and spray painting the LCM8 Landing Craft.
Our ideal candidate will have
1. Experience with industrial/marine blast class standards (SA 1 through to SA 3)
2. Experience with mechanical preparation for paint application
3. Experience with high build epoxy (2 Pac Coatings) and anti-fouling applications through Airless Spray
4. Formal coating qualification - NACE Level 1/2 (Desirable)
5. Working at Heights and Confined Space Entry (Desirable)
6. Forklift and EWP tickets (Desirable)
7. Sound knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety requirements
8. Ability to work unsupervised and in conjunction with the paint & blast specifications
9. Open and clear communication within a team environment
You must be an Australian citizen and be eligible to hold a Defence Security Clearance.
