Matchbox's BALA team is involved in a wide variety of legal and business affairs matters relating to the development, production and financing of television programs on the slate of Matchbox Pictures and Tony Ayres Productions. Ideal candidates should have a strong interest in a career in business & legal affairs in the television industry. The role is for 3 days per week (flexible hours may be accommodated).This part-time role requires a 9-month commitment, as this program is from March 2025 - Dec 2025. Job DescriptionAssisting with the drafting and execution of 'chain of title' documentation (agreements relating to the development of television projects) and other agreements.Corresponding with talent and literary agencies and other third parties, e.g. broadcaster personnel.Assisting with production-related clearances as necessary (with the supervision and guidance of the Matchbox BALA team).Assisting with the maintenance of company template agreements.Conducting legal research on behalf of the Matchbox BALA team, as may be required.Assisting on matters relating to the promotion and distribution of content, including rights information enquiries in relation to the Matchbox library catalogue.Assisting in the management of the company's Screenrights registrations and related issues.Such other tasks and day-to-day support as may be reasonably required by the Matchbox BALA team in connection with the business of Matchbox and Tony Ayres Productions.QualificationsProficient in Microsoft Office suite.A strong interest in pursuing a career in legal and business affairs in the television industry.Detail-oriented, organised, with strong critical-thinking skills.Able to work under pressure and with tight deadlines, with strong time management skills.Ability to take initiative and work independently.Excellent communication skills and a great team player.Minimum QualificationsIdeally completing the final year of tertiary studies in Law, Arts or Film / Television, during 2025.
