Looking for a full-time Chef with a minimum of 2-3 years of experience. The right candidate should have relevant Certificate III and IV in Commercial Cookery, along with a positive skilled assessment.
Excellent communication skills are highly required.
Responsibilities:
* Design seasonal menu (we have rotating weekly specials)
* Assist head chef with preparation of High Tea and brainstorm new ideas
* Manage, motivate, lead, and develop our kitchen team
* Delegate tasks to kitchen staff and communicate with wait staff on daily specials
* Maintain a high standard of food hygiene, safety, and cleanliness in accordance with company standards
* Inspect raw and cooked food items to guarantee the highest quality products are prepared and served to customers
* Manage food costs and supplier management to budget
* Monitor labor costs
* Manage and maintain ordering of stock and produce
* Implement health and safety procedures in the kitchen
* Collaborate with management to align kitchen operations with the overarching goals of the company
Job Requirements:
* Qualified Chef or equivalent with a minimum of 2 years' experience within a fast-paced environment
* Australian qualification of Certificates III and IV in Commercial Cookery or positive Trade Skill Assessment
* Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to interact positively with restaurant staff and management
* Detailed knowledge of health and safety standards
* Excellent communication skills (good English language skills are a must-have)
* Flexible availability across weekdays, weekends, and public holidays
