This role forms part of an inclusive, supportive and high performing team, within a values-based environment, reporting to the Director of Inclusive Education. Position Objective: To provide educational assistance and support to teaching staff and students in the delivery of planned education programs. The education assistant will work under the direction of the Director of Inclusive Education to assist teachers in providing for the physical, intellectual, social, religious and emotional development of students with specific learning needs or disabilities.Successful Candidate Credentials: Hold a minimum qualification; Certificate III in Education Support or equivalent;Diploma of Education Support would be desirable;Hold a Working with Children clearance;Gain a satisfactory National Police History Check;Have or be prepared to undertake Mandatory Reporting training;Have appropriate Australian work rights.Selection Criteria: Support for the Edmund Rice Charism, Edmund Rice schooling, Catholic ethos and the College Mission;Sound knowledge and experience providing educational assistance in a similar role within a school environment;Experience using ICT as a teaching resource;Sound interpersonal skills enabling harmonious and positive relationships;Sound organisational and time management skills;Ability to work cohesively within a team or autonomously.Employment Conditions and Benefits: Aquinas College provides a supportive, inclusive, stimulating and spiritual work environment, with access to outstanding facilities and resources to enable academic excellence, in a beautiful setting overlooking the Canning River.
