Social Support Group Volunteer
Social Support Group volunteers provide a friendly face, conversation, and great support to staff providing activities for older adults who are frail, socially isolated, or have a disability. Peninsula Health’s Social Support Group is a Community Health Centre based support service that is designed to:
1. Provide an opportunity for people to meet together to participate in activities of their choice.
2. Assist in maintaining independence and social involvement of those who attend.
3. Provide carers with support and day respite.
4. Provide skill retention and development, outings, and a range of activities, promoting self-esteem to clients.
