The opportunity:
This position reports to the General Manager, Black Pepper Brands and is responsible for coaching and leading our retail Area Manager teams, as well as creating, leading and maintaining the brand's retail strategy for successful business growth, leadership, profitability, consistent customer experiences, and effective retail operations across all channels.
The skills and experience you offer us:
* Contribute to strategic planning with the brand Leadership team to grow the business.
* Design and execute a retail strategic plan aligned with brand direction for business growth.
* Collaborate with the real estate team to find new store opportunities that support business growth.
* Stay informed about competitor activity and retail trends to guide strategic decisions.
* Analyse and understand customer insights and behaviours to drive strategic decisions and financial results.
* Create annual budget for Retail Division and manage Retail Administration cost centre.
* Drive profit and sales targets by managing expenses, including employment and shrinkage.
* Demonstrate a strong commitment to achieving and surpassing key performance indicators (KPIs).
* Oversee and manage sales budgets, ensuring targets are achieved through effective financial planning and execution.
* Develop unique customer service strategy for the brand to deliver exceptional customer experiences, build loyalty, and maximize sales.
* Collaborate with real estate team on strategy execution, including store design layouts, refurbishments, small works, and store maintenance priorities.
* Oversee Retail Operations team to maintain and optimize retail policies and procedures for Customer Experience, Stock Management, Cash Management, POS, and Security.
* Support visual merchandising strategy for retail stores, ensuring alignment with retail strategy and maximizing sales return, supported by VM Manager.
* Provide leadership and motivation to teams, ensuring clear communication and information flow.
* Inspire and motivate the retail team to drive performance and achieve financial goals, fostering a high-performance culture.
* Partner with People business partner to meet current and future people needs.
* Manage Performance process to align individual goals with brand strategic objectives.
* Foster a performance culture with continuous improvement, training, and constructive feedback.
Skills & Experience Required:
* Extensive management experience in retail or high-sales turnover environments.
* Strong industry expertise with a keen aesthetic sense and deep brand affinity.
* Experience in nurturing and enhancing brand value.
* Proven track record in senior leadership, managing large teams, and motivating them effectively.
* Passion for retail, exceptional customer service, and strong personal style.
* Forward-thinking in building and executing strategic plans to drive business growth.
* Capable of budget management, interpreting financial reports, and optimizing schedules.
* Ability to cultivate strong relationships with stakeholders.
* Strategic thinker with agility and proficiency in change management.
* Analytical with strong problem-solving skills.
* Effective communicator, both verbally and in writing.
* Able to develop a performance-driven culture.
* Leadership in team capability, growth, and succession planning.
