The opportunity:
We are on the lookout for a Web Developer to join our Digital Delivery team based at our Richmond Support Office! Reporting to the Technical Lead, you'll play a pivotal role in supporting and enhancing our Shopify websites, along with their related apps and integrated systems.
To achieve this, you:
* Perform hands-on software development tasks, including prototyping, feature development and front-end API integration.
* Manage front-end updates across our portfolio of branded Shopify stores.
* Define storefront UX improvements in partnership with the wider eCommerce team.
* Apply UI best practice for an optimised user experience across all front-end touchpoints
* Work closely with eCommerce, marketing, and design teams to implement campaigns and create compelling landing pages.
* Propose initiatives, optimisations, and new technologies to enhance the front-end experience of our sites.
* Collaborate with the broader developer team on medium to large projects
The skills and experience you offer us:
* A strong background in software engineering, especially in eCommerce/web development, with proficiency in JS and CSS, and a minimum of 3 years of industry experience.
* Hands-on experience in developing Shopify themes and storefronts.
* Expertise in Shopify Liquid templating language, meta objects, and meta fields.
* Proficiency with Shopify CLI and experience using Storefront, REST API, and GraphQL API for front-end development.
* Experience with UI frameworks such as React or Preact.
* Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git) and knowledge of CI/CD pipelines.
* Understanding of SDLC for platform development, testing principles, and project methodologies.
* Experience with eCommerce platforms like Magento, Shopify, SFCC, or BigCommerce at an implementation level is a plus.
* Hands-on experience with Shopify's APIs, third-party app integrations, and tools like SearchSpring and Klaviyo.
