We are seeking a talented and dynamic Video Journalist/Editor to join our team on a casual basis. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with a passion for creating travel content and a strong background in video production. You will be responsible for creating and publishing engaging, video-first content across social platforms such as Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube, as well as producing on-site video content. Working closely with the editorial team, you will bring travel stories to life in visually compelling and highly shareable formats. From covering the latest travel trends to capturing the essence of new destinations, your videos will help set the standard for travel video content in Australia. Key Responsibilities: Develop, shoot, and edit video content for escape.com.au, covering travel guides, advice, trends, hotel reviews, cruise updates, and travel deals. Create and publish content optimised for social platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube, ensuring each video is tailored to the platform's unique audience and specifications. Contribute to the creation of video-first content for the website, driving user engagement and audience growth on-site. Collaborate closely with the social media editor and wider editorial team to pitch and execute visually captivating video ideas that align with the Escape brand. Edit and finalise video projects, ensuring high production values and a consistent aesthetic. Stay informed of the latest trends in video production, storytelling, and social media to ensure content remains fresh, relevant, and engaging. Meet deadlines while consistently delivering high-quality work that adheres to Escape’s editorial standards. Who are you? Proven experience in video production, including filming, editing, and post-production processes. Proficiency in desktop video editing software (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro) and mobile-first editing programs. Demonstrated experience in creating video content for social platforms, particularly Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube. Strong storytelling abilities, with the skill to translate editorial concepts into visually engaging video content. Understanding of platform-specific content requirements and best practices for video optimisation. A passion for travel and a keen interest in creating travel-related content. Ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
