We are looking for a motivated Commis Chef to join our team at our soon-to-be-relaunched boutique hotel property located at 62 Byng Street, Orange. This is your chance to be part of the foundation team as the hotel reopens on Monday 2 December, 2024.
The Commis Chef will assist in the preparation of dishes, ensuring high standards of food quality and presentation. This entry-level position is ideal for individuals passionate about cooking and eager to learn from experienced chefs.
Key Responsibilities
Operational
* Assist in preparing ingredients, including washing, peeling, and chopping vegetables, and seasoning meats.
* Perform basic cooking tasks under the supervision of senior chefs, such as grilling, frying, and baking.
* Maintain cleanliness in the kitchen, including washing dishes, cleaning workstations, and ensuring hygiene standards are met.
* Help with receiving deliveries, organising stock, and taking inventory.
* Rotate through different kitchen stations to gain experience and learn various cooking techniques.
* Assist in plating and presenting dishes according to the chef’s instructions.
Guests
* In collaboration with the General Manager and Team Members, implement strategies to enhance guest service standards which meet or exceed the expectations of guests.
