An exciting opportunity to join Kmart as a Product Designer - Innovation where you will be directly involved in designing the future of Kmart and Target! We're seeking a talented Product Designer to join the design and technology practice in our Innovation team. Based in our Innovation Store at Kmart Southland, you'll collaborate with IT, Central Operations, Stores, CX, Store Design, and technology vendors and will report directly to the Innovation Capability and Strategy Manager.

What you'll be doing
Participate in design-led innovation projects, leading the exploration and testing of new solutions, from problem identification to prototype development and testing. Utilize multiple prototyping tools and techniques, fostering an environment of continuous experimentation. Proactively explore new technologies for innovation projects. Collaborate with designers, researchers, and subject matter experts to gather insights and drive user-centred design. Conduct user testing and iterate designs based on feedback and data analysis. To be successful in this role you'll have:
3-5 years of experience in a similar design-led/innovation/product development role, demonstrating a strong portfolio of successful projects. A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Design, Engineering, IT Programming, or a relevant field preferred. Experience in developing and supporting end-to-end solutions or applications in cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP). Proficiency in rapid digital prototyping, showcasing a deep understanding of design thinking principles. A proven track record of collaborating across disciplines and driving projects to successful completion. Knowledge of hardware prototyping and experimentation is highly desirable. An outgoing and engaging style, fostering a collaborative working environment. Self-motivated and accountable, capable of taking ownership of responsibilities and driving results independently.
