Senior Ranger Discovery and Coral Coasts (DCC) The Senior Ranger Discovery and Coral Coasts (DCC) role is responsible for regional park operations and is based in the QPWS&P, Maryborough Office (Bundaberg Office negotiable) and reports to the Principal Ranger, Wide Bay Area. The Management Unit is comprised of three operational ranger bases (Agnes Water, Bundaberg and Mon Repos), managing Mon Repos Conservation Park and Turtle Centre, as well as numerous inland and coastal protected areas including national parks, conservation parks, and state forests. The responsibilities of the position include: Supervising the Ranger in Charge at each of the bases. Providing support and strategic direction to the operational workforce, particularly overseeing the management of the Mon Repos Turtle Information Centre, a world-renowned sea turtle conservation program and public education tourist facility. Completion of managing project work throughout the estate, such as delivery of: Pest management. Fire management. Visitor management. Compliance. Infrastructure programs, for example: Mountain bike tracks. Stakeholders/tourism: Neighbours Leaseholders The position is required to lead the strategic management and delivery of work programs and projects in the area, working in conjunction with the regional technical support team and area leadership team. Responsibilities also include: Preparing responses to Ministerial correspondence and other customer enquiries and complaints. Reporting on work programs and budgets. Liaising with a range of internal and external clients, such as park neighbours, key stakeholders, and First Nations people, to foster respectable and professional partnerships to achieve positive proactive and productive park and forest management outcomes.
