About the role
* Provide strategic support to the Executive Director, Aboriginal Health, and lead the Aboriginal Health Unit to achieve key performance indicators and close the gap targets
* Support Aboriginal Health Workers in delivering high-quality health services to Aboriginal patients, families, and carers
* Manage and lead staff within the Aboriginal Health Unit, including rostering, performance management, and training
* Deliver training, orientation, and in-service programs across the organization to improve understanding of Aboriginal Health
* Lead the Emergency Department Flexi Clinic and organize rosters for staff within the Aboriginal Health Unit
About you
* Be of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander descent
* Experience in leading a team
* Experience in project management, and managing regular data analysis requirements
* Able to take a lead role in educating the organization on Aboriginal health priorities
* Experience in delivering Aboriginal health services & programs, including training & education initiatives
* Knowledge and/or experience of patient care across all hospital streams
* Knowledge of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health issues, including but not limited to crisis intervention, grief and loss, and complex care planning
* Have a current driver’s license
* Have a qualification in Aboriginal Health/Education, Allied Health, Psychology, Nursing, Welfare, Management, or similar. This is desirable rather than mandatory
