Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in Cyber Security
Our School of Computing and Information Systems at the University of Melbourne is seeking a passionate academic to contribute to teaching and research in Cyber Security. Based in Melbourne Connect, this role involves leading innovative research, publishing in top-tier venues, securing independent funding, and collaborating with industry and interdisciplinary teams across the University.
Your responsibilities will include:
* Teaching subjects to a high standard for students in Bachelors and Masters as directed by the Head of School or Deputy Head;
* Conducting lectures and tutorials at undergraduate and postgraduate level, including engagement in teaching innovation and improvement;
* Developing and innovating high-quality subject materials and delivery, including the use of web resources as appropriate;
* Preparing project work to support student learning;
* Conducting high-quality scholarly research in Cyber Security;
* Fostering partnerships with industry, government, and other collaborators.
The successful candidate will be a collaborative researcher with a strong track record in Cyber Security, demonstrating excellent communication skills and the ability to engage effectively with academic, industry, and international stakeholders. They will possess a proactive mindset, excelling in teamwork, independent research, and knowledge-sharing through teaching, seminars, and collaborative projects.
You will also have:
* A PhD in computer science, software engineering, or information systems (or relevant discipline);
* A track record of quality research in Cyber Security as evidenced by research publications in leading peer-reviewed conferences or journals commensurate with opportunity;
* Demonstrated ability to perform independent research and a commitment to interdisciplinary research.
This role requires that the successful candidate undergo and maintain an up-to-date Working with Children Check. Visa sponsorship is available for this position.
