The Role
The Senior Fire Protection Engineer will provide specialist advice on Fire Services/Protection Engineering to Management, Clients & Specialist disciplines by using qualitative, quantitative and probabilistic methods to develop robust Fire Services Engineering designs.
As a Senior Professional, the role will contribute to the winning, management and delivery of moderate to large scale projects. It is responsible for managing resources, budgets and timelines and enhancing client and working relationships. This role may assist with preparing proposals and presentations to clients to win work.
The Responsibilities
* Manage projects on time, on budget and within the prescribed statutory and company guidelines.
* Maintain knowledge of regulatory requirements for fire safety systems in buildings.
* Participate in developing and fostering client objectives to achieve life safety, property protection, business continuity, and sustainable design in fire protection.
* Assist with reporting, billing and monitoring of variations promptly
* Quantitative risk analysis and assessment
* Conduct design reviews, third party inspections and verifications
* Fire Systems Specification and Design
* Sprinkler system design
* Hydrant/Hose reel system design
* Fire Detection system design
* Gas/Foam suppression system design
The Requirements
* Appropriate tertiary engineering qualification with an emphasis in Fire Systems and or Fire Engineering practices.
* 8+ years of relevant professional experience
* Membership in an appropriate registered body recognising qualifications and experience in Fire Protection, Fire Design and Fire Practices.
* Experience in successfully leading project teams
