As a Manager, BCM you will be part of the Technology Division within the Business Control and Monitoring (BCM) Risk in Change (RiC) team. BCM are a central team responsible for enabling business success in keeping the Bank safe. We drive a risk mindset in the Technology Division so everyone has the capability to make informed decisions. We are responsible for evaluating, directing and monitoring 1st line risk activities to ensure risk across Technology is kept within the risk appetite established for the Westpac Group. You will be enabling this by providing risk leadership to Westpac’s Technology division. Further key responsibilities include: Develop risk management strategies, evaluate potential risks and exposures in Technology, and determine how to effectively minimise those risks and develop procedures that can be implemented. Identify gaps in technology risk management and develop solutions and procedures to effectively minimise risks. Work closely with business and/or project owners to influence a strong risk culture e.g. conducting risk workshops, providing guidance on risk assessments and strategies, as well as overseeing risk remediation activities. Draft management reports for formal governance forums, effectively articulating identified risks and coordinating information flow to appropriate teams. Ensure projects with technology solutions are appropriately designed to minimise delivered risk. Lead strategic initiatives to further improve our risk service offering and mature risk and compliance management for the Group. Lead and coach others in the team and key stakeholders to drive overall risk maturity. To be successful in this role, you must be an experienced project risk or delivery risk or risk in change professional, with demonstrable experience in technology project solutions within the banking/financial services industry. You must also be a dynamic and driven individual who demonstrates business leadership and upholds Westpac values. You will have strong stakeholder engagement skills and be confident in providing advice, as well as influencing Technology Leaders of best practice. Further key attributes include: Knowledge and experience in risk and regulatory landscape, operational IT, business knowledge, and operational risk and compliance frameworks. Adaptive influencing and relationship building skills across senior stakeholders and peers. Excellent problem solving and evaluative judgement skills. Strong skills in planning, project management and attention to detail. Ability to work under pressure with shifting priorities in a dynamic work environment. Further advantageous attributes include: A tertiary qualification preferably in a business, finance, accounting, or commerce related discipline. Cyber, ITIL and COBIT accreditations desirable.
