The college currently has an enrolment of 3000 students. The enrolment is expected to stabilise and possibly decline in the primary years (additional primary schools opening in the neighbouring area) and to continue to increase at secondary level. The backgrounds of our students reflect a cultural and socio-economic diversity. The college has a Student Family Occupation (SFO) of 0.552 which indicates that there is a level of disadvantage within our community. Approximately 16% of our student population come from a language background other than English. The vision of Manor Lakes P-12 College is `Dream, Believe, Achieve'. Selection Criteria SC1 Ability to deliver a comprehensive Occupational Therapy service to students and families in an educational environment. Service encompasses assessment, analysis, reporting, individual/group work, education and program delivery advice. SC2 Experience working with children and adolescents with complex sensory, physical and functional needs. SC3 Demonstrated capacity to work as part of a collaborative professional team including Allied Health Assistants and contribute significantly to the achievements of the team. SC4 Ability to contribute to the design and delivery of professional learning to other relevant professionals, in the area of Occupational Therapy combined with a demonstrated commitment to professional learning and growth for both self and others. SC5 Demonstrated high level oral and written communication. Role Attendance may be required for up to 6 days during school holiday periods. The Role of Occupational Therapist with the School is to provide consultative and direct clinical services within the school environment. It includes the responsibility for the assessment, development and planning of individual and group-based services to students. In addition the role include the delivery of professional development packages and educational material for staff and or families. The role will also involve liaison with external agencies in the provision of equipment and service delivery. Responsibilities Provide assessment and devise appropriate programs for students as requested by the Principal team. Work in consultation with teaching teams to undertake goal planning for students within the Individual Educational Programs (IEP's) framework. Design, implement and evaluate interventions and adjustments according to students individual needs in collaboration with teaching staff. Work collaboratively with staff, parents and other community agencies where indicated to provide the best possible outcomes for the students. Provide written and verbal assessments where appropriate. Maintain records and relevant documentation in student files. Assist in the provision of professional development for staff of the school. Establish links with local paediatric OT's and relevant OT networks. Maintain OT resources in conjunction with other staff. Engage in the development of school policies and procedures which relate to OT services, planning and delivery. Undertake other professional duties as requested by the Principal.
