Anaesthesiologist - Head of Perioperative Medicine
Based in Gippsland, Latrobe Regional Health are looking for an Anaesthesiologist - Head of Perioperative Medicine to join our team on a full time, ongoing basis.
Latrobe Regional Health and Alfred Health have a long-term partnership to support quality and safe care for the Gippsland community. This partnership now extends to developing and advancing the Latrobe Regional Health anaesthetic service.

The Alfred is a one of Australia’s leading tertiary teaching hospitals located in Melbourne. It is recognised for its excellence in clinical care, statewide services including trauma and burns as well as research and education.
This partnership brings together the expertise of both institutions to enhance the delivery of high-quality anaesthetic services to the Gippsland community. It is also an essential support for the expanding surgical program in state of the art new theatre facilities at Latrobe Regional Health that will open in 2024.
As a Senior Medical Staff (SMS) member, an Anaesthesiologist - Head of Perioperative Medicine at LRH is required:
1. To participate actively in the effective function of the department and to co-operate with other members in the provision of patient care. In particular,
2. To provide clinical expertise and excellent service in anaesthesia and perioperative medicine (including in-theatre, acute pain, preadmission clinic, delivery-suite, and other clinical and non-clinical duties as determined by the director of anaesthesiology and perioperative medicine)
3. To provide supervision to junior medical and other relevant staff within the Unit/ Department
4. To support Latrobe Regional Health’s (LRH) quality, monitoring and improvement initiatives
5. To support LRH teaching, research and clinical governance programs
6. To support the strategic priorities and values & beliefs of LRH

We are looking for candidates with:
12. Legally qualified medical practitioners, registered or registrable with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) without conditions, undertakings, or reprimands that could impact on their clinical practice
13. Fellowship of the Australian & New Zealand College of Anaesthetists (or eligible for fellowship via the recognition of equivalent training pathway)
14. Meets LRH requirements for credentialing and scope of practice in anaesthesia
15. Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work well as part of a team
