3. Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled Procurement Consultant to join our team and support our Defence client. This role requires a deep understanding of procurement methodologies, contracting options, and tender development, along with expertise in contract management. The successful candidate will work on-site with Defence personnel to provide strategic procurement support, manage contracts, and help shape the future of procurement strategies in the Defence sector.
4. Duties and Responsibilities
* Provide support and advice in relation to procurement methodologies, contracting options, and tender development.
* Assess supply market trends, including current and future market capacity and capability.
* Design and develop procurement methodologies and contracting options to:
o Deliver optimal value-for-money outcomes.
o Mitigate risks and reduce tendering costs.
o Minimise the level of management, governance, and administration.
o Use contemporary performance management techniques.
* Develop associated requirements definitions, business cases, strategies, plans, and tender documentation.
* Lead or assist with tendering activities and provide expert advice to Defence.
* Conduct training for Defence personnel on procurement methodologies, contracting options, and tender development.
* Develop contract management frameworks, strategies, and plans.
* Conduct performance and compliance reviews of suppliers under contract.
* Develop, supply, or operate contract management systems to track key contract information, including communications, performance metrics, and variations.
5. Education/Certifications Required
* Relevant qualifications in Procurement, Business, or a related field.
* Active AGSVA Negative Vetting 1 (minimum) security clearance.
6. Knowledge/Skills Required
* Strong knowledge of procurement methodologies, contracting options, and tendering processes, particularly in a Defence context.
* Experience in contract management, including performance and compliance reviews.
* Proven ability to manage contracts, mitigate risks, and optimise value-for-money outcomes.
* Experience leading or supporting public service teams in a change environment.
* Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to interact at working and executive levels.
