Monash Health is Victoria's largest and most comprehensive health service. For more than 170 years, Monash Health and its predecessors have provided safe, high-quality healthcare and service for people at every life stage.
About the Role
This is a fractional (0.5EFT / 17.5hrs per week) ongoing position. The need for mental health service delivery within the Victorian Heart Hospital (VHH) has been identified due to the opening of the new hospital. This role will lead the development of a service within VHH to address the mental health needs of acute and non-acute mental health care for patients being managed at VHH as inpatients, outpatients or presenting to the VHH Emergency Department.
Mental Health Needs
The development of an integrated mental health service for VHH will improve safety and quality of care by addressing the needs of patients. It will also enable future collaboration in research and education on the relationship between cardiac disease and mental health, as well as leading research into understanding the cardiac complications of specific mental health disorders and their treatment.
