About the role Selectability is currently seeking a Safety Officer to work in the corporate team, supporting safety across the organisation's footprint.The Safety Officer will report to the People & Culture Manager and will work closely with management to support, develop, and maintain consistent workplace health and safety processes across the Selectability footprint.Based in Townsville, this is a permanent full-time position.Key Responsibilities: Supporting the organisation's overall function of workplace health and safety, including psychosocial safety in accordance with WHS legislation.Proactively managing Work Cover, using early intervention methods across the organisation.Analysing and reporting on WHS data to identify trends and corrective actions.Developing initiatives to maintain a safe workplace, developed using best practice principles and adhering to compliance requirements.Developing programs to maintain a psychologically safe workplace across the footprint.Supporting the development and reviewing of policies and procedures relating to WHS.Reviewing incidents and providing guidance to leaders on corrective actions.Developing training to embed a culture of safety and risk mitigation across the footprint.Writing monthly safety reports.About you To be successful you must: Have a minimum Cert IV WHS, or be willing to obtain.Have experience in managing Work Cover claims.Possess a strong working knowledge of safety management systems and regulations, including psychosocial safety.Have an understanding of NDIS, HSQF, National Mental Health, Child Safety, or Aged Care quality and practice standards (highly desirable).Exhibit strong written & verbal communication skills.Demonstrate a commitment to best practices.Role Requirements: A Positive Notice Working with Children (Blue Card) (ability to obtain).NDIS Worker Screening Clearance (ability to obtain).NDIS Worker Orientation Module 'Quality, Safety & You'.Occasional travel to various Selectability locations is required.About the offer We offer a range of benefits including: Salary of $85,126 - $91,598 per annum.$15,900 + FBT salary packaging benefits.50% discounted training via our RTO.Flexible working arrangements.Career pathways and opportunities for development.Employee Assistance Program offering confidential counselling support for employees.Applying If this sounds like you, please submit your resume and a cover letter outlining your skills and experience and how you best fit this role.If you would like more information, please contact the HR team on 0499 605 169 or .About us Selectability is a not-for-profit charity with a primary focus of improving mental wellbeing and contributing to suicide prevention across regional Queensland.We believe everyone has the right to access high-quality supports locally and have recently expanded our services to include child safety and residential aged care in the Lower Gulf.If you would like to know more, please visit our website .#J-18808-Ljbffr
