The Water Group is currently seeking to appoint multiple Project Managers Infrastructure Projects in a full-time capacity to 31 December 2026. About the Role As the Project Manager Infrastructure Projects, you will be responsible for the safe development and delivery of one or a number of projects, by leading all project management activities required including managing and coordinating resources, contracted staff, consultants, budgets and financial control, procurement, schedules and risks ensuring project deliverables and milestones are met within required timeframes. You will also help ensure the project is developed and delivered in line with DPE Governance Frameworks and Government, customer and community objectives, as well as meeting environmental and planning requirements. About You To be successful in the role, you will have significant experience in project management for major infrastructure projects and/or capital works programs. You are experienced in all stages of a complex infrastructure project lifecycle, particularly project development, business case development, environmental approvals, procurement, stakeholder engagement, delivery and completion processes, and handover to operations. You will be an experienced leader with the demonstrated ability to lead, motivate and encourage a collaborative project team and have the ability to understand high level technical and commercial issues and demonstrated experience in resolving these issues by contributing to technical, environmental, stakeholder engagement, procurement and commercial aspects of the project, escalating key critical issues, and monitoring progress to key project milestones and performance measures. As a confident communicator, with strong verbal and written communication, you have the ability to manage competing pressures between project scope (including quality outcomes), cost, schedule and risk, while meeting stakeholder expectations and longer-term community needs in an environment of intense public scrutiny, as well as managing competing pressures where external inputs of other agencies are required to enable project delivery, particularly where objectives may not align. Experience and/or understanding of the NSW water sector would be an advantage. Key Knowledge & Experience Significant experience in project management for major infrastructure projects and/or capital works programs. Experience in all stages of a complex infrastructure project management lifecycle, particularly project development, design, construction, safety management, environmental approvals and compliance, procurement and contract management, community and stakeholder engagement, delivery and completion processes, and handover to operations and/or asset owner. Ability to understand high level technical and commercial issues and demonstrated experience in resolving these issues. Understanding of the NSW water sector and project management methodology. Essential requirements Appropriate tertiary qualifications and/or equivalent relevant working experience in project management, engineering, building or construction acceptable for membership in the Institute of Engineers Australia or the Australian Institute of Project Management. A valid NSW Driver’s Licence and willingness to drive and work in remote locations.
