As our volunteer receptionist/welcomer, you will be the first point of contact for our guests, donors, and visitors. It is a confronting task to access help which makes your role essential in creating a welcoming and friendly atmosphere for everyone who walks through our doors. Some tasks include:
1. Greeting visitors: engage in friendly welcomes and warm conversations with all of our guests.
2. Payments & Bookings: Collect $10 for hampers, tick their name off our electronic booking system and offer to book them in for a hamper next week at a time that suits them best.
3. Phone Calls: Answer phone calls, handle bookings and cancellations and take notes for management.
4. Basic administrative support: Assist the team in basic admin duties and those one-off jobs that arise throughout the day.
We're looking for individuals who are:
1. Friendly and approachable.
2. Organised.
3. Comfortable with basic computer tasks.
4. Able to commit to a weekly schedule, whether it's a few hours a week or more.
Your contribution as a receptionist will not only help our organisation run smoothly but will also enhance the experience of everyone who walks through our doors.
Time required:
We currently run two shifts but will open more shifts in the coming months:
Thursday 12:45pm-6:15pm
Friday 8:45am-1:15pm
You will need to be able to perform the role for an entire shift (can be one or the other, does not have to be both).
