This role will help BHP better understand Australian public policy so that BHP can make better decisions and share BHP's perspectives with government and other stakeholders. This role can be based in any of our BHP capital city offices in Melbourne, Perth, Brisbane or Adelaide! Makes evidence based and strategic decisions in alignment with longer term business objectives.Identifies, engages and manages a range of diverse internal and external stakeholders.Gains support for and negotiates outcomes that achieve mutually beneficial goals.Applies intelligence on industry trends and market dynamics to drive enhanced decision making and planning.Applies an understanding of other countries' political, historical and cultural context to build partnerships, market expertise and achieve business outcomes within an international context.Applies an understanding of the business context, BHP operating model and ways of working to enhance productivity and value chain performance.Engages the capabilities of the entire organisation.Strives to achieve 100% safety, 100% customer value and 0% waste.Knows our customer and is obsessed with meeting their needs.About You You will have the following skills:Deep practical understanding of Australian public policy making, both at the political level and through working with the Australian Public Service.Strong policy analysis skills and the ability to quickly understand and interpret policy change, and then advise senior leaders on the commercial implications.Exceptional written and oral communication skills, with experience in dealing with a wide variety of senior audiences.Strong ability to develop deep relationships with stakeholders both within an organisation and externally.Strong business and commercial acumen.
