Summary:
The Administration Officer is a key member of the NATSIHA team, responsible for providing a high level of administration support whilst respecting and promoting the cultural values and traditions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.
This role will report to the Senior Project Officer of Housing Sector Strengthening, supporting policy, project, and senior management team members.
Responsibilities:
* Ensuring the smooth operation of the office by maintaining office supplies, equipment, and company assets.
* Ensure value for money in all procurement of office supplies and equipment by maintaining strong relationships with suppliers and service providers (e.g. cleaners, stationery suppliers).
* Support the team’s efficiency and effectiveness by preparing documents and materials for their meetings and events.
* Support the Executive Manager to manage Executive and Board travel and diaries by coordinating travel requirements and itineraries, and scheduling and updating diaries.
* Handle any ad-hoc administrative duties as assigned by management.
What you'll bring to the role:
* Aboriginality - as this is an identified position, the applicant must be of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander descent.
* Excellent administrative skills gained from a minimum of 1 year of experience in a similar role (e.g. time management, coordination of tasks, efficient work practices).
* Excellent interpersonal skills, including a respect for and understanding of the diverse cultures, histories, and experiences of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
* A strong dedication to advancing Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander housing rights and addressing housing disparities experienced by Indigenous communities.
* Excellent computer literacy including Microsoft Office applications.
* Ability to adapt communication style to meet stakeholder needs.
* Well-developed organisational skills and the ability to complete tasks with pressing timeframes.
* Ability to work independently.
* Demonstrated professionalism, sound judgement, discretion, initiative, integrity, resilience, and a commitment to continuous improvement of service delivery.
* Willingness to undergo a National Police Check.
* Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively in a team-based work environment, including a demonstrated commitment to customer service and problem-solving for the benefit of the customer or client.
