Overview
We are now accepting applications for the 2023/2024 annual intake for Community Support Workers who assist in providing a direct client service to persons who are aged, frail or disabled who wish to remain living in their own home with some assistance.
Our three main sites are at Minlaton, Wallaroo and Maitland, however services are provided across Yorke and Northern Local Health Network.
Responsibilities may include assisting clients with showering and other hygiene, domestic assistance tasks and other household duties as determined by the client's Coordinator and recorded on the relevant Care Plan, providing valuable social support by helping clients with their shopping, banking, bill paying and medication collection, providing a client focused approach that is based on strengths and encourages independence.
In this role, you will always maintain confidentiality and not discuss clients and their environment with anyone not involved in the client's care and report any changes in a client's circumstances, such as their physical, mental and social wellbeing, to the Home Based Services Coordinator, and participate in mandatory training workshops designed to assist in overall client care and legislative requirements.
You will have skills in performing household cleaning tasks such as vacuuming, mopping and cleaning associated wet areas, be motivated and reliable, capable of working effectively and sensitively with frail disabled people of all ages, demonstrating the ability to communicate respectively with people with a range of diverse value systems, cultural differences and special needs and you will be flexible in responding appropriately in different situations.
Please note that this position is multi-classed as either a WHA3 or WHA4 and classification will be determined by qualifications and experience.
