Key competencies (role specific criteria)
You will be assessed on your ability to demonstrate the following key capabilities, knowledge and experience. Within the context of the responsibilities described above under ‘your key responsibilities', the ideal applicant will be someone who can demonstrate the following:
1. Demonstrated knowledge, expertise and skill in the delivery of scientific judgement within a comprehensive Haematology/Transfusion medicine and Clinical chemistry laboratory.
2. Demonstrated ability to participate within a multidisciplinary team and contribute a range of diagnostic and troubleshooting skills often with minimum supervision.
3. Demonstrated ability to apply established principles to a multidisciplinary laboratory service with provision of results and clinical advice in a client focused manner.
4. Demonstrated ability (or ability to rapidly acquire the skill) to identify, develop and implement quality and service improvement activities in accordance with NATA/ISO accreditation / certification.
Qualifications, registrations and other requirements
5. Bachelor of Applied Science (Medical Laboratory Science) or equivalent qualification.
6. Transfusion Medicine and Blood Film Morphology experience is essential.
