Purpose of role • The Stablehand will assist the Foreperson with day to day management of all practical elements of horse training along with general stable representation. Key Responsibilities • Knowledge of the safe operations of equipment and gear associated with the job • Knowledge of safe horse handling • Knowledge of health & Safety and co-operate at all times with management to ensure these obligations are complied with • Using and maintaining the required Personal Protective Equipment • Liaise with the foreperson regarding concerns of any horse while performing your duties • Always follow all instructions given by the Foreperson and/or supervisor The above list is not exhaustive, and the role may change to meet the overall objectives of the organisation. KEY SELECTION CRITERIA Qualifications and Experience • Certificate in Stablehand or be willing to attain certificate • Experience in stablehand work is desirable Knowledge • The successful applicant will ideally be passionate for the industry and animals. They will have a thirst for knowledge of all areas of horse training and a willingness to learn and adapt.
