Primary objective Manage a multi-disciplinary team in the delivery of coordinated and integrated case management, program development and facilitation, and Through Care planning to young people in detention and accommodated at Paperbark Facility in Alice Springs. Provide leadership to the case coordination team to achieve high quality services in compliance with the Youth Justice Act and where relevant the Care and Protection of Children Act and Youth Justice Determinations, Policies and procedures. Complete relevant assessments and reports including Through Care plans. Key duties and responsibilities 1. Undertake assessments and complete reports for young people in detention and accommodated at Paperbark Facility to identify areas of risk and need and the support required. 2. Complete court reviews and provide support with the Section 67 procurement process. 3. Provide high level leadership of the Case Coordination team including induction, guidance, mentoring, support and provide expert advice to staff to effectively deliver case management and Through Care planning. 4. Accountable for the delivery of the Case Coordination team services in accordance with legislative requirements, national and international best practice models, departmental and program policy, and in accordance with detailed standard operating procedures. 5. Accountable for the delivery of programs and services according to the standards set out by the Department and in accordance with best practice youth justice principles. 6. Participate in after incident management, and ensure all work being undertaking complies with prescribed professional, practice and ethical standards, related legislative, workplace and Work Health and Safety requirements, and service delivery guidelines. 7. Identify training requirements for staff in relation to the supervision of young people and possible modes of delivery. Selection criteria Essential 1. Tertiary qualifications in psychology, with eligibility for unconditional registration to practice psychology in Australia and demonstrated ability to conduct psychometric evaluations and formal psychological assessment of clients in a forensic setting. 2. Demonstrated high level knowledge and experience in leadership and the management of multi-disciplinary teams to encourage and ensure positive performance and productive outcomes. 3. Demonstrated knowledge of Youth Justice processes and of operations, service delivery models, policies, procedures and strategic direction across the Youth Justice Division. 4. Well-developed working knowledge of relevant Commonwealth and Northern Territory legislation primarily the Youth Justice Act and the Care and Protections of Children Act and delegated powers. 5. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to effectively and efficiently prepare reports for a wide range of audiences. 6. High level interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to supervise and motivate staff in a challenging team environment. 7. High level capacity to facilitate engagement with key stakeholders and persons from diverse cultural backgrounds, and the ability to apply culturally sensitive practice for people from Aboriginal and other culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds.
